Horse Float:

Galvanised, Frame Material - Galvanised, Body Panel - Aluminium, Wheel Rims 4 x 15" Sunraysia Rims, Spare 15" Sunraysia Wheel under Lock and key, 2 x 50mm Solid Axles, Roll Rocker Tandem Suspension 9 springs, Double Axle Electric Brakes, Breakaway System fitted to Float (independent braking system that activates itself when float becomes detached from towing vehicle).

We also make our floats partially aluminium - the frame and chassis are still for strength and flexibility, but the outside sheeting/cladding is aluminium, thicker aluminium and same strength as steel and steel corrugated for strength where the horses are. By having the sheeting aluminium, we are lessening the weight and also eliminating rust forever as aluminium doesn't rust. Basically, everything that is non-structural is now aluminium.

Plus, the benefit for the horses is that the float stays cooler inside on hot summer days than your standard steel float. Steel absorbs heat and retains it so it stays hot for a long time but aluminium dissipates it leaving the float walls cool to touch which in turn is cool inside the float for the horses. Its a win for both human and horses so to speak.

Paint Work:

Painted with 2 pack paint. White as standard with black trim around windows, side door, barn door and black and aluminium trim at roof join.

Float Lighting:

Internal 12v LED lights - one above entry door, 2nd above bench and 3rd at rear for night time loading of horses.2 sets of rear LED lights - 3 x brake lights, 2 x amber indicator lights and one reverse light, 6 side marker lights and 8 retro reflectors

Horse Float Flooring:

We install a safety feature in the float so that no horses can ever go through the float floor.

A 4mm thick aluminium plate/sheet gets installed in the chassis.

How the aluminium sheet works is that it guarantees that your horses will never go through the floor of your float.

First you have the already reinforced chassis which we use square tubing not angle bar across the width of the float along the whole length of the float at 500mm apart then we use angle bar lengthways to brace everything together.  Then the 4mm plate goes on top and the 22mm honeycomb and then nonslip rubber. This is all glued down so that the float becomes waterproof and you can wash the float out the more the better. The layering of the different materials can also help to eliminate road noise.

This is now a super strong floor. 

We also install Nonslip Rubber matting on the tailgate ....fully sealed and waterproof, none slip rubber matting for the ramp/tailgate with extra footing support with moulded slat/panels down the tailgate, rubber matting also on side wall panels to kickboard and pawboard.

Horse Float Bay Dimensions:
Measurements are taken from the middle of the front bay to the middle of the back bay.

The bay measurement of the Horse Transport Truck is 2280mm. We measured 2 separate Horse Transport trucks that are used for the transport of race horses which are usually between 15h - 17h.

The horses in the trucks stand in their bays sideways (not on an angle). This should give you some indication of the length of our horse float bays compared to the Horse Transport Truck bays.
